Feldco Windows, Siding & Doors Supports Students, Local Teachers and Schools
DES PLAINES, Ill. (PRWEB) August 17, 2018 -- Feldco Windows, Siding and Doors is excited to announce the winners of its 2018 scholarship contest along with some new education-based initiatives. Students, teachers and schools are the recent focus of the local home improvement company’s community involvement.
Feldco awarded scholarships to two students who best exemplified Feldco’s family values in their essays. Alexa Gorman of Forest, VA and Mugdha Gurram of West Hartford, CT were chosen from over 3000 applicants nationwide. Alexa is excited for her upcoming junior year at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. She is a pre-law student who feels passionately about helping others. Mugdha will be a sophomore this coming fall and is pursuing a double major in International Relations and Computer Science at Boston University. Her determination to make the most of every opportunity she’s been given really struck a chord with The Feldco Scholarship Committee. “It was a great opportunity to reflect on what my family has done for me, I was proud to share the essay with my family,” stated Gurram about the Feldco Scholarship application process.
Not only has Feldco awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships over the last year, but they recognize the importance of education and community outreach in other ways as well. Feldco has made it their mission in 2018 to support education in various ways. This morning Feldco participated in a local Back to School Drive with a donation of hundreds of backpacks and school supplies for area children.
Another way Feldco is supporting education is with an “Outstanding Teachers” contest. Feldco is accepting nominations through August 31, 2018 for teachers that go above and beyond. They will be awarding $5,000 to schools in their service areas on behalf of the winning teachers and prize packs will be given to the teachers themselves.
