FlexJobs Names Top 30 Companies for Work-from-Anywhere in U.S. Remote Jobs
BOULDER, Colo. (PRWEB) July 24, 2018 -- For a variety of reasons, the vast majority of remote jobs include a geographic requirement requiring remote workers to be based in a specific city, state, region, or country. To help job seekers interested in finding remote jobs that allow candidates to be based anywhere in the United States, FlexJobs has released today a list of the “Top 30 Companies for Work-from-Anywhere in the U.S. Remote Jobs.” This list is based on an analysis of remote job listings from over 50,000 companies in the FlexJobs database during the first six months of 2018 (January 1 through June 30). The analysis looks specifically at “U.S. national jobs,” which refers to jobs that are open to candidates who are based anywhere in the United States.
“Even though remote jobs do offer more mobility and freedom than in-office jobs, legal, licensing, and tax considerations do oftentimes restrict companies from hiring workers that can be based absolutely anywhere,” said Sara Sutton, founder and CEO of FlexJobs. “Since 95% of remote jobs do include a location requirement, the companies that can hire workers without geographic limitations are extremely desirable, especially for people who love to travel, digital nomads, and military spouses. We hear frequently from a variety of people about how portable jobs have enabled them to combine meaningful careers with travel, but these types of remote jobs are also extremely important for people who live in rural areas or those whose local job market isn’t very strong,” Sutton concluded.
According to FlexJobs’ data, there was a 9% increase in the number of U.S. national jobs posted in its database from 2016 to 2017. Education, healthcare, and computer/IT are among the top industries represented on this list.
