Franklin County Visitors Bureau Highlights Ride & Ride-A-Thon Festival On September 22
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. (PRWEB) September 11, 2019 -- Franklin County Visitors Bureau invites the public to join the ride! A 29-mile, 13.5-story high-voltage power line is proposed for Franklin County PA. Much of the impacted land is to farmland with breathtaking views. Join The Ride and see why it is important to protect, nurture, and preserve. The ride is Sunday, September 22, 9 AM to 4 PM, and includes three levels of bike rides—33 miles, 16 miles, or 4 miles. Riders receive a t-shirt, plus pizza after the ride.
Beginning at 11 AM is a Ride-A-Thon Festival with music by Ev Crider & Jon Ingels, Negley Brothers, Jewelweed, and The Pale Barn Ghosts. Foods trucks and beverages will be on site as well as cornhole tournament and kids activities. 1181 Falling Spring Road is the beginning and ending of all levels of rides, plus the site of the Ride-A-Thon festival.
A $45 donation will give riders a selection of a 33-mile course, showcasing the acres of farmland and the beauty of the valley. For an easier ride, the 16-mile course is an abbreviated version of the longer route, and there is also a beginner route, suitable for younger riders. Register for the ride here.
Motorcycles, classic cars, Jeeps, and even contemporary vehicles are welcome to join a caravan tour of the 33-mile route to see first-hand why the land of Franklin County is too valuable to sacrifice. Ride begins at 10:30 AM. Donations welcomed!
The public is welcome to come out for the music, food, and family fun. Suggested donation for entry to the Ride-A-Thon Festival is $20. But, all are welcome. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy an afternoon by the beautiful Falling Spring. Register here.
