Franklin County Visitors Bureau Sets April Open Mic Night at John Allison Public House in Greencastle
(PRWEB) March 31, 2019 -- Franklin County Visitors Bureau (FCVB) is seeking talent for April 18 A Cappella & Unplugged Open Mic Night a t John Allison Public House in Greencastle, 6:30 PM to 8 PM. A Cappella soloists and groups are welcome as well as accompanied vocal and instrument-only performances. As long as participants can carry instruments onstage, they are eligible to perform. The open mic night does not have a registration fee. Online registration available here.
A Cappella & Unplugged is a three-round, talent competition for $500. 2019 marks the fifth year for the event, and FCVB is expanding the format by adding four open mic nights throughout Franklin County. Winners of the open mic nights ensure a slot in Round One at the Capitol Theatre in Chambersburg on June 22, where judges select the top six acts to move onto Round Two. Round Two gives the public an opportunity to like their favorite performances on Facebook.com/FCVBen. The three favorite acts move onto the Finals and vie for $500 at 1864 Ransoming, Burning & Rebirth of Chambersburg, a living history portrayal and light show that depicts Confederate destruction of July 30, 1864 and the town’s rebirth.
Past winners of A Cappella & Unplugged: 2015: “A World Apart” with Taylor Piper and Kristopher Potter of Mercersburg; 2016: Kate & Isaac, a duo from Waynesboro; 2017: Elly Cooke of Gettysburg; 2018: Alexus Lawson of Chambersburg.
