Friendship Manor Administrator Named New Member of San Diego County Health Services Advisory Board
NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (PRWEB) August 20, 2018 -- Shawn Amirhoushmand, administrator of Friendship Manor, a San Diego skilled nursing facility operated by Generations Healthcare, has been appointed to the San Diego chapter of the Health Services Advisory Board. He will represent District 4, and his experience with senior healthcare will allow him specifically to advise on senior health issues.
Amirhoushmand has held healthcare leadership positions since 2009, and has been involved in advocating for seniors ever since. He was a senior advisory committee member for the city of Napa until he moved to San Diego in 2015, where he became the administrator of Friendship Manor. After the move to San Diego, he also joined the San Diego Organization for Healthcare Leaders.
“The more I got involved, the more I realized I needed to give back,” Amirhoushmand said.
Amirhourshmand’s appointment came after three years as administrator of Friendship Manor. As an advisor on the San Diego County Health Services Advisory Board, he will join the other board members in advising leaders in San Diego County in making healthcare decisions.
“I hope that my years of experience in the long-term care industry will allow me to give seniors a voice in an unprecedented way,” Amirhoushmand said. “Seniors make up a huge sector of healthcare; in fact, San Diego County alone has 91 skilled-nursing facilities. Serving these seniors on the board is a significant honor.”
Supervisor Ron Roberts presented a board letter at the June 26, 2018, Board of Supervisors meeting to commemorate Amirhourshmand’s appointment.
