Georgia Intellectual Property Alliance To Manage Community Programming For College Of Law, Beginning in 2019
(PRWEB) November 14, 2018 -- Georgia State University College of Law will give its community-oriented programming to the Georgia Intellectual Property Alliance (GIPA) in a new collaboration to begin in 2019.
Georgia State and its Intellectual Property Advisory Board (IPAB) have worked for more than a decade on creating numerous programs for the benefit of the intellectual property community, including nationally recognized workshops, conferences, awards and events. Because of the enormous success of these programs, they have grown dramatically in number and scope, challenging the College of Law’s ability to administer them independently.
IPAB, a group of alumni and friends that make up the intellectual property community in Atlanta, also has helped the College of Law build a first-class program in intellectual property (IP) law. These efforts have resulted in cutting-edge curriculum, a new Center for Intellectual Property and a wealth of opportunities for students interested in IP law.
The Georgia Intellectual Property Alliance will now manage the Corporate IP Institute, the IP Springposium, IP Legends Awards, IP Think Tank, Corporate IP Roundtable, Charitable IP Golf Tournament, Patent Agent Roundtable, IP Community Service Awards, Intellectual Property Professionals and Practitioners, and the Southeast IP Job Fair. The College of Law will team up with GIPA on these programs to advance GIPA’s goal for Atlanta to become the national and international capital of intellectual property in education and practice.
As a thought leader and convener in this field, GIPA is ideally situated to take ownership of the community programming to advance intellectual property broadly and to educate diverse audiences on developing issues in this area. GIPA also has the unique advantage of bringing together attorneys, inventors, artists, educators, business executives and legislators in one group to advance the interests of intellectual property on a unified footing.
