Get Hired CT Career Expo Offers Job Seekers Access to More Than 10,000 Open Positions
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (PRWEB) September 09, 2019 -- On Tuesday, September 24th Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut will host Get Hired CT, the state’s largest free public career expo, at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford. The event is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for job seekers across the state to connect with employers representing diverse industries.
“Get Hired CT Career Expo offers job seekers access to a broad range of employment opportunities at businesses and nonprofits in not just Connecticut, but also New York and Massachusetts,” Vickie Volpano, President and CEO, Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut, said. “This is a great opportunity for people who are unemployed, underemployed, or maybe are simply unhappy in their current situation, to connect directly with recruiters and find a path forward in their employment journey.”
This year’s event will feature employment opportunities in the technology, health care, retail and hospitality fields, among other industries. Attendees will also have the opportunity to get a free, professional headshot and meet with job coaches to hone their resumes.
“Our mission is to help individuals who face barriers to employment connect with meaningful job opportunities,” Volpano said. “Get Hired CT Career Expo is an extension of that commitment and we are delighted to have so many companies joining us to recruit local talent.”
Now in its fourth year, Get Hired CT attracts job seekers from across the state. In 2018, 44 percent of attendees had obtained an Associates Degree or higher. Forty-six percent were currently employed but seeking a new opportunity.
