Gilbane Building Company Awarded Grand Avenue Community Center Project
ORLANDO, Fla. (PRWEB) August 30, 2018 -- Gilbane Building Company has been selected by the City of Orlando to provide design-build services for the expansion and renovation of an existing 1926 Mediterranean Revival architecture building. Designated as an historic landmark in 1995, the building was originally constructed as a school. The restoration project is being completed by the design-build team of Gilbane Building Company, Borrelli and Partners, and JCB Construction team.
The facility will be repurposed as a youth and family recreation center and house the services provided by the City’s Downtown Recreation Complex. The project includes 30,000 SF of renovations and new construction with an addition of a gymnasium.

The new center, when it opens, will offer the full range of after-school and summer programs including the recreation sports program the After-School All-Stars program, Parramore Kidz Zone and the Orlando Pottery Studio. The design and construction phases are capped at a 900-day schedule for completion.
