Gilbane Building Company tapped to build new Bullard Havens Technical High School
New state-of-the-art facility to be built in multiple phases.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn., June 24, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The State of Connecticut Department of Administrative Services (DAS) has selected Gilbane to provide CM-at-Risk Services to deliver the new Bullard Havens Technical High School located in Bridgeport, CT.
Designed by JCJ Architecture, the new 260,000 SF technical facility will be built in multiple phases over a 41-month schedule to accommodate operations of the existing school, which is adjacent to the project site and will remain occupied during construction until its eventual demolition. The technical high school will accommodate 13 separate shop programs for approximately 1,000 students, including new classroom/lab spaces, theory rooms, gymnasium, cafeteria, storage space, fieldhouse space, athletic fields, bus garage, and parking.
Given that the project site is also surrounded by adjacent residential neighborhoods, the Gilbane team has developed strict safety and logistics measures to ensure minimal disruption to the surrounding community and that student safety is paramount.
