Greenberg Traurig Adds Two International Arbitration Attorneys, Continues to Grow Presence in Washington, D.C.
WASHINGTON, D.C. (PRWEB) August 08, 2018 -- Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP has added international arbitration and dispute resolution attorneys Tomás Leonard and Nicole Y. Silver in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. They join as shareholders in the Litigation and Latin American & Iberian practices. Previously, Leonard was a partner and Silver was of counsel at Winston & Strawn, LLP.

Leonard focuses his practice on international arbitration and international litigation covering primarily foreign direct investment (FDI) in Latin American countries. He advises and represents both private investors and sovereign states in international arbitration proceedings before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and other forums. Leonard also represents clients in trade disputes before the International Trade Commission (ITC) and the U.S. Department of Commerce. Prior to practicing law in the United States, he practiced in Argentina, representing financial institutions, investment funds, and international investors in corporate, finance, and banking matters.
Silver focuses her practice on international litigation and dispute resolution in a wide array of sectors, including energy, infrastructure, telecommunications, and the environment. She advises Sovereign States and private clients in international arbitration proceedings, including arbitrations before ICSID and the PCA under the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Arbitration Rules. Silver also represents clients in complex civil litigation, including products liability litigation and white collar criminal defense. Her experience includes preparing motions for district courts, various U.S. courts of appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Leonard received his LL.M. from Boston University and his J.D. from the Catholic University of Argentina. Silver received her J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law and her B.A. from Princeton University.
Leonard and Silver’s move to Greenberg Traurig’s Washington, D.C. office follows the recent addition of international arbitrator Thomas G. Allen.
