Greenberg Traurig Atlanta Attorneys Volunteer Time and Service at 20th Annual ServiceJuris Day
ATLANTA (PRWEB) June 24, 2019 -- The Atlanta office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP participated in the 20th annual ServiceJuris Day on June 15. The firm was represented by a group of 63 attorneys, business staff members, and their family and friends.
ServiceJuris Day unites members of the Atlanta legal community for a daylong community service project in collaboration with Hands on Atlanta. The annual event brings together lawyers, judges, legal assistants, and more from across the city of Atlanta to work together to improve their community. This year’s ServiceJuris project supported the Atlanta Food Bank and “The Fight Against Hunger.” Representatives from Greenberg Traurig, along with over 15 other law firms and legal organizations, worked side-by-side to assemble over 100,000 meals for those in need in the Atlanta area.
Greenberg Traurig attorneys were also represented on the leadership team. Associate Andrew Z. Smith served as fundraising chair for the Executive Board, along with the firm’s official team captain in preparing for the event.
“Few causes can bring together hundreds of volunteers from the legal community the way ServiceJuris does. The magnitude of what we can accomplish together in a single day is why this event just celebrated its 20th successful year,” Smith said. “It's inspiring to see the enthusiasm for giving back to the community continue to grow, not just within Greenberg Traurig, but among all volunteers. I have seen many become involved early in their careers, as I did, and return year after year. I expect this trend to continue, especially as the event continues to partner with outstanding community organizations such as the Atlanta Food Bank.”
