Kaplan is presenting during the session titled, "Summons & Summons Enforcement." This panel will review the summons procedures, how practitioners can help clients respond to a summons, and how to challenge the IRS when it has over-stepped its powers in its zeal to obtain information.
Ferreira is presenting during the session titled, "Ethical Obligations to Report Misconduct by Other Practitioners and Taxpayers." The panelists will examine when, whether, and how to report professional misconduct by private practice and government attorneys or the Court. The panelists will also discuss when, whether, and how to report tax-related misconduct by unscrupulous tax professionals.
