Greenberg Traurig Attorneys to Speak at Florida Chamber Foundation’s 33rd Annual Environmental Summer School
MIAMI (PRWEB) July 11, 2019 -- Six Greenberg Traurig attorneys from the firm’s Environmental Practice will speak at the Florida Chamber Foundation’s 33rd Annual Environmental Permitting Summer School to be held from July 16-19 in Marco Island, Florida.
The annual event aims to keep Florida Chamber members and organizations informed of environmental and growth management laws and regulations affecting Florida. It is the largest event of its kind in the state and is attended by more than 900 attorneys, consultants, engineers, state and local government officials, developers, landowners, and others with a strong interest in environmental issues in Florida.

Barsh is co-chair of the firm’s Environmental Practice and represents public and private clients on an array of environmental regulatory, permitting, and litigation matters, including transactional support and due diligence, environmental assessment and liability matters, climate change, energy and infrastructure projects, wetlands and coastal permitting, complex land use projects, air quality matters, hazardous materials contamination, and other compliance and enforcement cases.

Weinstein chairs the firm’s national Environmental & Toxic Torts Litigation Practice and is the managing shareholder of the firm’s Tampa office. He has an active civil and white-collar litigation practice, with an emphasis on environmental, toxic tort, real estate, business, health care, and other challenging matters. In the civil context, he represents clients in class actions, mass torts, and other complex litigation.
“I am particularly pleased to be speaking on the topic of environmental permitting because it is essential for those doing business in Florida to understand how it affects their interests and the strategies that can be employed to obtain the approvals they need,” Weinstein said. “A company’s success can depend on these issues, so I plan to offer attendees tips that will help them achieve the right outcomes.”
Chibbaro focuses his practice on environmental and land use matters. He advises developers, utilities, and other clients on virtually all aspects of development, from initial permitting and entitlement strategy through government approvals and incorporating legal, political, community, and public relations issues. Chibbaro is experienced representing clients before local, state, and federal agencies and has handled complex regulatory matters involving the National Environmental Policy Act, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and other environmental laws.
Nicholson-Choice has 30 years of experience which includes local government, environmental, land use, brownfields, and construction with an emphasis in negotiating and resolving complex environmental permitting, due diligence, and litigation matters. Her practice includes counseling and litigation on environmental aspects in real estate transactions, commercial foreclosure proceedings, bankruptcy cases, environmental investigations, remediation projects, brownfields development, and evaluating risks and costs associated with potential environmental cleanup and third-party liability, as well as on regulatory and permitting technical aspects of complex contamination remediation projects.
Stouck chairs the firm’s Federal Regulatory and Administrative Law Practice and has more than 35 years of trial and appellate litigation experience in a wide range of cases and courts. He has experience in complex business, regulatory, and environmental disputes with government agencies. Stouck also handles environmental and land use litigation, including related contract and commercial disputes, and has deep experience with eminent domain and Fifth Amendment regulatory takings claims.
Torres is a member of the firm’s Environmental & Toxic Torts Litigation Practice and is the administrative shareholder of the firm’s Tampa office. He concentrates his practice on toxic tort defense, environmental litigation, land use litigation, and business and complex commercial litigation. He is experienced in mass tort and class action toxic tort defense and has managed and worked with testifying and non-testifying experts in an array of scientific and technical disciplines.
