PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 17, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP Real Estate Practice Associate Laura Bottaro Galier was recently selected as a Buchholz fellow of the Committee of Seventy, a Philadelphia-based nonpartisan and nonprofit good-government organization.
Launched in 2017 by the Committee of Seventy Board, the Buchholz Fellowship creates a pipeline of emerging leaders under 40 who work in the nonprofit and/or private sectors and are interested in improving the governance of the city, state, and region. The program honors the late Carl Buchholz, who was a fervent civic servant. Bottaro is one of six fellows in the 2022-23 class.
"We are delighted The Committee of Seventy chose Laura to serve. She is an extraordinary example of cultivating and retaining home-grown talent and continues to flourish as a leader in her field, in this office, and in the firm," said Curtis B. Toll, managing shareholder of the firm's Philadelphia office. "Her commitment to social action and the city has served her well from an early age, and this fellowship will allow her to expand her skillset, further increasing the city's magnetism."
Established in 1904, the Committee of Seventy works to foster better and effective government, fair elections, and informed and engaged citizens in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania, according to the organization. It is an independent nonprofit guided by a board of directors made up of business, legal, and civic leaders.
In her practice, Bottaro handles a variety of commercial real estate and general corporate transactions related to complex joint ventures, financing, leasing, and dispositions of mixed-use multifamily, retail, and industrial developments. She has represented clients including insurance, private equity companies, banks, and developers across the country.
"Our firm has had the pleasure of seeing three of our young attorneys complete Buchholz fellowships, and we are proud to continue this relationship that encourages collaboration and growth during a time of economic and social uncertainty," Toll said. "The impact this program will have on the city's future generations is vast, and we will continue to support that mission."
