Greenberg Traurig’s Mary-Olga Lovett Returns to West Point for 2019 Corbin Leadership Forum Conference
HOUSTON (PRWEB) April 18, 2019 -- For the second consecutive year, Mary-Olga Lovett, senior vice president and co-regional operating shareholder of Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Texas law offices, has been invited to participate in a panel discussion at the 2019 Corbin Leadership Forum Conference on April 26.
Hosted by the U.S. Military Academy at West Point’s Corbin Forum, the event’s theme is “Lasting Impressions – New Perspectives.” Lovett will participate in “Appreciating Legacy – Developing the Next Generation of Women,” the first of three scheduled panels.
“To witness the commitment a historical and prestigious institution such as the Academy has taken toward gender equality is incredibly inspiring,” said Lovett. “I am honored to be part of an initiative that values educating, empowering, and elevating women. We can all take a lesson from the strides made in this area by our armed forces, which recognize that mentoring, training, and promoting women in exactly the same manner as men not only leads to better outcomes – it is literally a matter of survival.”
Lovett has previously hosted two of Greenberg Traurig’s Women’s Business Forum events focusing on issues facing women in male-dominated environments, as well as a men’s workshop entitled “Effectively Mentoring and Managing Women in the Workforce.”
The U.S. Military Academy established the Corbin Forum in 1976, the first year that women were admitted to West Point, to provide an opportunity for female cadets to discuss their experiences as they assimilated into the Corps.
Its mission today is to provide a forum within the Corps of Cadets for the presentation and discussion of female gender diversity within the military, and to foster within the organization and the Corps of Cadets a sense of pride in the accomplishments of military women.
