Grimbleby Coleman CPAs Host Nonprofit Mad Dash Event
Team Members Create Awareness and Raise Money for 14 Nonprofit Organizations
MODESTO, Calif., July 30, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In celebration of their 45th Anniversary, the team members of Grimbleby Coleman CPAs gathered in the parking lot on July 10 to raise money for 14 different nonprofit organizations. The nonprofits represented were local, national, and even international. Team members nominated a nonprofit close to their heart, or that they dedicate their time to, and convinced their peers to donate money to the organization with a 45 second "pitch."
Grimbleby Coleman graciously gave each team member nine $5 tokens amounting to $45 (in celebration of their 45th anniversary) that they could donate to the nominated nonprofits. Once each member presented their nonprofit, a 45 second timer was set and staff "mad dashed" to donate their money to the nonprofits they wished to support.
In total Grimbleby Coleman donated $1,795 to local nonprofits such as the Valley Children's Healthcare Foundation, Love Modesto, and the Modesto Gospel Mission, as well as other non-local groups. This Nonprofit Mad Dash provided Grimbleby Coleman CPAs another opportunity to provide financial support to great causes. In 2016, the firm received the statewide CalCPA Public Service Award for their commitment to giving back to their community. Each year the team at Grimbleby Coleman provides financial and physical support to over 50+ nonprofits in Stanislaus County.
"It was our first 45 seconds Nonprofit Mad Dash," said Clive Grimbleby. "It reflects our commitment to the community and getting everyone involved to show where they have passion in the community."
The idea was brought to the team by Persefini Quintero, the Marketing Assistant who wanted to create an event to donate money to these causes as well as emphasize Grimbleby Coleman's 45th year working with clients in the community and donating time to nonprofits— thus their use of "45" to enumerate the amount of time they had to speak, donate, and the amount of money they were able to donate.
Persefini nominated a cause that she personally works with, the Humane Society of Stanislaus County. Persefini believes that "these types of events are important to build awareness and raise money so that they can continue to do what they do." She established that it was integral to talk to peers about nonprofits and what they stand for because it gives the listener a personal connection to the organization so that they'll know they are supporting a good, reliable cause.
"It's important to build awareness," said Marketing Manager Karlha Davies, who herself nominated Murals in Motown, "especially the ones you are passionate about because it shares that enthusiasm with other people. Being here in front of all my peers is awesome because it creates awareness for something I love and they might want to support it as well."
