Grossmont Center Announces New Shop Local Market
Grossmont Center introduces a new monthly Shop Local Market featuring local San Diego businesses and family friendly activities.
SAN DIEGO, Feb. 13, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Shoppers looking for a bargain will find fantastic deals at Grossmont Center's new Shop Local Market. This free, family-friendly event takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the last Saturday of every month.
In addition to great discounts and new products showcased on tables in front of participating stores, each Shop Local Market features a concert, a kid-friendly event, an organic food market, and an event that benefits the community.
During the last two hours of each Shop Local Market, the "GC Spotlight" focuses on local artists and musicians who display their work or perform in concert. Kids can enjoy performances from artists such as Hullabaloo and the bilingual hip-hop artist Twinkle Time, or participate in yoga or a Lego build. Other presenters have an educational component, such as Ms. Smarty Pants, who puts a fun spin on learning about water conservation, gardening, and recycling. Community initiatives that are part of the Shop Local Market include blood drives and e-waste collections. With beer and vegan food, lectures, and artists working on murals and chalk art, Shop Local Market is a festive place to spend the day.
