HSMAI Announces Hotel Digital Marketing Essentials Virtual Classroom Series
MCLEAN, Va. (PRWEB) January 06, 2020 -- The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) is launching the Hotel Digital Marketing Essentials, a six-week virtual classroom series in 2020 in partnership with the current and previous chairs of the HSMAI Marketing Advisory Board, Holly Zoba and Dan Wacksman. Together, they are presenting a facilitator-led, interactive virtual classroom that is designed to help participants navigate the complex web of hotel digital marketing, gain key insights to enhance their internal teamwork, and build relationships with external partners to grow sales. Participants will also gain the skills and knowledge to prepare for the Certified Hospitality Digital Marketer (CHDM) exam.
Over a period of six weeks, HSMAI will host the virtual course from 3:00-4:00 p.m. EST each Monday. This course will be facilitated by HSMAI leaders Dan Wacksman, CHDM, Principal, Sasaato, and Holly Zoba, CHDM, Principal, Scout Simply. Holly and Dan have been recently recognized by HSMAI as Top 25 Extraordinary Minds in Hospitality Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Optimization.
This engaging and interactive course is designed for hospitality professionals working directly or indirectly with the marketing of hotel(s) who seek to acquire a firm understanding of hotel digital marketing, and those seeking to earn their Certified Hospitality Digital Marketer (CHDM) credentials.
"Having worked in the digital marketing space since its inception, the two things that have remained constant is that things change rapidly and that there is often a lack of knowledge in the industry on how things work and how all the pieces fit together,” Wacksman said. “This course solves both those problems by ensuring the most up-to-date content is made available and presented in a way that will help people understand and put the pieces together, enabling them to better participate and manage in the digital space.”
By attending, hospitality professionals will learn how to apply digital marketing knowledge to grow revenue, identify digital marketing opportunities for hotel properties and partners, make better decisions around marketing channel ROI, and learn how to communicate strategies more credibly to owners, vendors, and other team members.
The virtual course will offer content on the following focus areas:
1. Owned Media (Website, Email, CRM, etc.)
2. Earned Media (Social Media, Reputation Management, etc.)
3. Paid Media (Search Engine Marketing, Display Advertising, Meta Search)
4. Distribution Landscape (Google, OTA's, etc.)
5. Vendor Management
6. Communication
Registration is available for the following courses:
- February 3 – March 9
- April 6 – May 11
- June 22 – July 27
- September 14 – October 19
Holly Zoba has been training hoteliers to prepare for the CHDM in a 4-hour classroom setting since the CHDM was first launched in 2013. “This space moves and changes so quickly, we wanted to be sure we could stay on top of new developments and communicate them to hoteliers while they are still current,” Zoba said. "Working so closely with the Marketing Advisory Board every month allows us to stay in touch with what is working in marketing space for hospitality, and then share that knowledge in this web classroom setting.”
Participants seeking to apply for the Certified Hospitality Digital Marketer (CHDM) receive a $75 discount on the CHDM fees. Please contact Kathy Tindell at [email protected] for more information.
