Hacker Halted Tackles “Life, the Universe, Everything” for 2018 edition with An Ethical Hacker’s Guide to the Universe
ATLANTA (PRWEB) August 06, 2018 -- Hacker Halted, EC-Council’s largest annual conference, will focus its 2018 edition on applying the lessons from “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” to cybersecurity. The event will be in Atlanta, GA for the sixth year in a row on September 13 & 14. The Hacker Halted speaker committee has combed through the dizzying stack of submissions to form the agenda for this year’s conference with a special focus on presentations that take the lessons from The Guide to heart and apply them to the cyberwars being fought every day across the world.
In keeping with last year’s innovation, this year’s speaking committee has chosen three brand new tracks that focus on aspects of Douglas Adams’ work. They are:

Hacker Halted’s speaker committee is made up of an all-star team of security veterans. Winn Schwartau, Founder of The Security Awareness Company and “security guy since 1983,”; Chris Roberts, Chief of Adversarial Research and Engineering at LARES Consulting; Aamir Lakhani, Dr. Chaos and Global Security Strategist and Researcher at Fortinet; Joe Gray, Senior Security Architect at IBM bring their vast networks and expertise to the task of filling the agenda with the top security minds in the industry.
The agenda for Hacker Halted has now been posted and highlights presentations from the best in the ethical hacking industry. The talks chosen resonate with the theme of the conference as well as current events in infosec and beyond. The opening keynote presentation is actually a panel debate moderated by industry veteran and committee member Winn Schwartau. The focus of the debate is artificial intelligence, entitled Security & AI: To Serve Man. The panel features Mark Rasch, Independent Consultant; and Aaron Lint, Vice President of Research at Arxan Technologies.
After the debate, the opening keynote will be delivered by Chris Hadnagy, founder of the Innocent Lives Foundation, an organization dedicated to putting the skills of the infosec community to work unmasking anonymous online child predators to help bring them to justice and protect children. Chris is a leader in the information security community, and this community has nearly limitless talents and abilities to locate people anywhere they hide. His keynote, titled Preying on the Predators: SE Style will delve into his work.
After Hadnagy’s presntation, the track talks begin. Attendees will have a choice between talks from Dr. Catherine Ullman, Senior Information Security Analyst, University at Buffalo; Antonio A. Rucci, Director, Infosec & Threat Intelligence, Gridsmart Technologies, Inc.; Joseph Muniz, Architect At Cisco Systems And Security Researcher; Brian Contos, CISO & VP Technology Innovation At Verodin, Tyler Cohen Wood, Cybervista, Executive Director of Cyber Workforce Development; Gregory Carpenter, Chief of Security Testing For Titania Solutions Group; John Nye, Senior Director of Cybersecurity Research And Communications For Cynergistek; Jason Patterson, Enterprise Application Security Architect at NCR, among many others.
In addition to the speakers, attendees can also learn from the additional activities available at the conference including participation in a GORUCK event, a security-themed escape room presented by Living Security, the Hacker Halted Signature Party, and so much more. Hacker Halted has a long history of bringing incredible information security speakers together since 2008 in the US.
