Hair Hero: Austin Stylist Takes Home Top Honors at The North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA)
AUSTIN, Texas (PRWEB) April 06, 2023 -- Allen Ruiz appeared euphoric after winning 2023 "Master Stylist of the Year" at the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) Sunday night (April 2nd) at a ceremony in California held at the Anaheim Convention Center.
The North American Hairstyling Awards, considered the “Academy Awards” of Hairdressing are awarded annually in 14 categories and salute artistic expression and technical excellence. This prestigious invitation-only category of “Master Stylist,” honors the top artists, educators and artistic directors in North America. 100 award-winning artists were invited to submit work which was then reviewed by a panel of judges and narrowed down to 5 finalists with one winner taking home the coveted trophy.
This latest win makes Ruiz a 4-time NAHA winner, previously winning "Stylist Of The Year" in 2007 and 2013 and "Salon Team of The Year" in 2011. Ruiz has now taken home top honors three times and is one of a few elite artists to have accomplished this feat in the 34 year history of the competition.
Allen’s award winning collection of beauty images were inspired by the couture showmanship of ballroom and the moody elegance of film noir. Ruiz elaborates, "the amount of time it took to meticulously adorn the wigs with rhinestones was one of the more bespoken couture elements we spent hours on. It really is the tiny details that make all the difference."
Thankful for the creative outlet and industry voice that competing in NAHA has provided him, Allen shares, “I love working on my clients in the salon, and creative directing shoots for clients, but NAHA has really given me another amazing outlet which has allowed me to take my creative expression to new levels."
