Harris Teeter Donates $204,404 to Eligible Together In Education Schools
MATTHEWS, N.C. (PRWEB) December 18, 2018 -- Harris Teeter announced today a donation of $204,404.38 to schools participating in the company’s Together In Education (TIE) program. TIE is Harris Teeter’s fundraising program for schools within its communities; it allow schools the opportunity to earn funds when shoppers link their VIC card to the school’s code, then shop eligible Harris Teeter brands.
This is the first of three payouts the Company will make to schools during the current school year; 350 schools will receive a check during this payout, which brings the total donated since the program’s inception in 1998 to over $27.8 million.

Active participation by both TIE schools and loyal Harris Teeter shoppers is integral to the success of the TIE program. To receive a check in the first payout period, schools must have accrued at least $250 since the re-start of the annual program on Aug. 1, 2018. The second payout will occur in March, 2019; the third and final payout will occur in June, 2019. There are over 5,196 active schools participating in TIE.
The TIE school year runs annually from Aug. 1 – May 31. Shoppers may link their VIC card now through May 31, 2019 to help the school or schools of their choice earn funds for the 2018-2019 school year.
