ATLANTA, June 13, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Online laser therapy education portal, Laser Therapy University (LTU), is celebrating 10 years of educating medical professionals and the public about non-invasive photobiomodulation (PBM) therapy to relieve pain. LTU will host a live symposium on PBM this fall in Orlando, Florida to help commemorate the milestone.
Also known as low-level laser therapy (LLLT), PBM was first approved for use in the United States in 2002; however, education and understanding of the basic uses and applications was lacking. In 2009, LTU provided its first webinar detailing how LLLT relieves pain by utilizing light to naturally influence restorative and reparative processes during injury or illness.
In 2011, LTU began a monthly webinar program, providing clinicians with research, insights and protocols on the application of PBM for an array of conditions and across multiple specialties. To date, there are over 90 educational webinars presented by industry leaders that utilize LLLT for non-invasive pain therapy.
LaserTherapyU.org, a resource for laser education was launched in 2014. Members can access all webinar content as well as an extensive resource library of abstracts relating to PBM as well as over 50 videos including; Treatment Protocols, Clinical Pearls, Researcher Interviews, and North American Association for Photobiomodulation Therapy (NAALT) Conference Presentations. The website now boasts over 1,800 members in over 30 countries and its webinar broadcast draws several hundred live views each month, allowing registrants to ask experts questions on PBM efficacy and technique in real-time.
In celebration, LTU announced it will host its first live symposium in Orlando, FL on November 14-17, 2019. The 3-day event, Low Level Laser Educational Symposium: Master Priority Principle® to Gain Superior Outcomes, will discuss the application and uses of PBM therapy and provide attendees the unique opportunity to meet clinical experts and researchers in the field. It will be the first time the group implements testing for a laser use certification, available from the conference sponsor, Multi Radiance Medical.
