GX Solutions are professional medical-grade refrigerators with OptiCool cooling technology. Helmer Scientific's introduction of GX Solutions takes cold storage to new levels by focusing on optimizing temperature, noise and energy management.

The expansion of GX Solutions to include all refrigerator models positions the line to meet future energy standards. GX Solutions excel in three key temperature management areas: uniformity, recovery, and stability. Achieving temperature uniformity throughout the unit, keeping temperatures within +/-1°C, guarantees customers that contents are stored at the right temperature regardless of where in the unit they are placed. In addition, GX Solutions recover faster than conventional technologies after prolonged door openings. These units are also able to maintain temperature stability, creating fewer deviations to avoid significant changes in temperature. These temperature management solutions ensure the protection of sensitive clinical and scientific products such as blood therapies, medications and vaccines, and patient samples.

Helmer's GX professional medical-grade upright refrigerators are designed for noise-sensitive areas such as medication rooms, pharmacies, labs and patient rooms. The new GX Solutions have a noise output 3x quieter than conventional units.

All GX Solutions refrigerator models are Energy Star certified. These refrigerators are at least 50% more energy efficient than conventional medical-grade refrigerators. Heat output is also reduced by 30%-50% compared to traditional refrigeration technology, limiting HVAC system impact.

GX Solutions performance characteristics are achieved by using OptiCool cooling technology, pairing a variable capacity compressor (VCC) and naturally occurring hydrocarbon (HC) refrigerants. In order to maintain temperature, VCCs run at variable speeds depending on the operating conditions, which are monitored using intelligent sensors. For example, the VCC runs at a higher speed when the door of the unit is open to deliver optimal temperature performance. When the temperature stabilizes, the VCC runs at a lower speed. Additionally, the OptiCool cooling system uses a natural refrigerant that is environmentally friendly, having no impact on ozone depletion and eliminating gases targeted under the US EPA Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP), Paris Climate Agreement, Montreal Protocol and EU F-Gas Initiative.
