Hershel "Woody" Williams MOH Foundation, Bluegrass World Series, UPS, and the Louisville Bats Come Together to Host 3rd Annual Gold Star Family Day at the Ball Park
LOUISVILLE, Ken. (PRWEB) July 13, 2018 -- The Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation, in conjunction with the Bluegrass World Series, Louisville Bats Baseball, and UPS, presents the Third Annual Gold Star Family Day at the Ball Park August 3, 2018 at Louisville Slugger Field.
This unique program, developed by the Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation, will host 300 Gold Star Family members for a day of baseball, food, community, and fun.
This year’s event will be held in conjunction with the 2018 Bluegrass World Series with the goal of supporting the mission of honoring Gold Star Families and their fallen Heroes, raising awareness about Gold Star Families and their enduring sacrifice, and offering an opportunity for Gold Star Families to strengthen relationships within their Gold Star Family community.
The Bluegrass World Series http://bluegrassworldseries.com will be an incredible baseball event at Louisville Slugger Field featuring a team of 30 former Major League players competing against top-tier collegiate wood bat summer league teams from around the country.

The Major League players will be competing as the Louisville Stars and the roster features Chipper Jones, Johnny Damon, Tim Hudson and many more. There will also be a special salute the night of the Gold Star Family Day at the Ball Park event for living legend Johnny Bench. This will be a truly historic night.
As a part of this special day, Gold Star Family members will be throwing out the first pitch as well as singing the National Anthem. The Bluegrass World Series and the Louisville Bats will also offer special recognition to Gold Star Families and their fallen Heroes during the pre-game ceremonies as well as throughout the games on August 3, 2018.
The success of the Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation’s mission to honor, recognize, and serve Gold Star Families has been largely driven by countless volunteers, organizations, individuals, and companies. UPS is one of those companies that has a strong history of service to Veterans and Gold Star Families.
To date, these joint efforts have included UPS’s partnership with the Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation in moving eight (8) Gold Star Families Memorial Monuments to sites across the United States in West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, Kentucky, Texas, and Hawaii.
