Hirsch & Lyon Announces Second Annual Legal Scholarship Open to High School Seniors and Undergraduate Students
For the second year in a row, Arizona-based law firm Hirsch & Lyon will be awarding a $500 scholarship to one deserving student pursuing a legal education in the United States. Applications must be submitted by July 10, 2019.
PHOENIX, Feb. 11, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Hirsch & Lyon, a personal injury and wrongful death law firm located in Arizona, recently announced its second annual legal scholarship. The firm will award $500 to one qualifying student who submits a completed application by July 10, 2019, and the winner will be selected based upon a combination of writing skills, academic qualifications and extracurricular activities.
According to Jack Hirsch, co-founder of Hirsch & Lyon Accident Law, the firm's legal scholarship is open to all high school seniors and undergraduate students who are pursuing an education in the field of law in the United States. The eligibility criteria are as follows:
- Applicants must be high school seniors or currently enrolled in college.
- Applicants must be enrolling in, or show proof that they are currently enrolled in, an undergraduate program for the upcoming fall semester.
- Applicants must intend to pursue a degree in law.
- All application materials must be submitted in English.
- Applicants under the age of 18 must have permission from their parent or legal guardian.
Additionally, all applicants must submit an essay of 850 to 1,500 words discussing their reason for pursuing a legal education. The essay must be submitted via email to [email protected] along with the following information:
- Full name
- Phone number
- Address
- Current GPA
- Current high school (if applicable)
- Intended (or current) college and major
- Any extracurricular or volunteer activities
- Social media links (if applicable)
By entering, applicants give Hirsch & Lyon permission to share their first names, quotes from their essays and their social media pages publicly. Hirsch & Lyon will not share applicants' contact information or their full names.

The firm will notify the winner by email no later than August 1, 2019. The winner must respond to the firm's email within one week in order to claim his or her scholarship. If a response is not timely submitted, the firm will select an alternate recipient.
