Historic Downtown Fort Dodge Farm 2 Fork Dinner Is Saturday, August 28
Farm To Fork 2021 will be held in the Historic Downtown District of Fort Dodge on Saturday, August 28th. The event is hosted by Main Street Fort Dodge and highlights locally sourced foods and prepared by local businesses.
FORT DODGE, Iowa, Aug. 23, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Main Street Fort Dodge is hosting the second Farm 2 Fork Dinner in Fort Dodge Saturday, August 28. The evening of family-style farm-fresh cuisine, local unique wines and beer, and live music was created to encourage people to come downtown as Main Street works to change the culture in the downtown. The event is made possible through the generous support of Green State Credit Union.
The event will be held on the street in the 800 block of Central Avenue beginning with a reception at 4:30. Dinner will be served at 5:30. This experience goes well beyond the dinner. We showcase local foods grown by local people prepared by downtown restaurants and caterers," stated Kris Patrick, executive director. "The Gabriel Alves trio will be entertaining." Changes are being made to ensure the safety of those attending. Round tables of 6-8 will be used for social distancing.
The distinctive event captures the talents of many Fort Dodge groups bringing them together for this exclusive opportunity. Shiny Top Brewing has created a specialty beer for the both the reception, featuring appetizers from The Fox and the Fork Catering, and the five-course meal catered by Olde Boston's. The special menu created for the event includes apples from the Community Orchard, wine from Soldier Creek Winery, entrée supplied by Sawyer Meats, and vegetables purchased locally. Completing the meal, The Dariette will create a specialty dessert with specially blended coffee from Central Perk and Dessert.
Tables of 6 are $400. This includes the five-course meal and beverages including wine and beer. Individual tickets are available for $60 for first-come-first served seating.
Tickets are available at Main Street Fort Dodge located at 24 N 9th Street Suite D in the Growth Alliance Building. For people wishing to purchase with PayPal or a card, tickets are available for purchase on http://www.mainstreetfd.org or through Main Street's Facebook page. Seating is limited.
Central Avenue will be closed starting at 2 p.m. on August 28. Parking is available in the Wells Fargo lot adjacent to the north, public lots, or on 8th Street and 9th Street.
