Holcomb Family YMCA Shares Vision for 2022 Opening
SPRING, Texas (PRWEB) July 02, 2019 -- A new YMCA is coming to Spring, Texas. The Holcomb Family YMCA will be built on the banks of the 100+ acre Lake Holcomb Recreation Area and adjacent to the Falls at Imperial Oaks just off the Grand Parkway and Imperial Promenade.
The YMCA has hired Gro Development, an architectural firm experienced in designing YMCAs around the country, to perform the conceptual design services. Gro Development presented some of the possible design plans and features recently at The Falls at Imperial Oaks Lake Club to community leaders and residents. The YMCA will be designed to maximize the lakefront location visually and functionally, and feedback from community members is being incorporated into the facility design and future programming. The new and improved design will produce a YMCA building model to be followed for years to come.
Fundraising is paramount for the YMCA to be built, and has a great jump start due to the generous donation of land and substantial cash donations from Falls at Imperial Oaks developer James R. Holcomb as well as David M. Weekley, Richard W. Weekley, and the Robert M. Weekley Estate.
Construction is anticipated to begin on or before July 31, 2021, with an opening date by November 30, 2022.
