Huobi Group’s Chief Strategy Officer Speaks at Blockchain Expo Europe 2018
AMSTERDAM (PRWEB) July 05, 2018 -- Huobi Group, the leading blockchain asset financial service provider, attended Blockchain Expo Europe 2018, a technology conference that attracted more than 8,000 attendees to the RAI of Netherlands.
At the conference, Huobi Group’s Chief Strategy Officer, Charlie Tsai, delivered a presentation on cryptofinance and ICO strategies and spoke on the future of digital asset exchanges and marketplaces.
“Decentralized exchanges are on the rise,” Tsai said. “And while they’ll be able to coexist with centralized exchanges, it’s unlikely that decentralized exchanges will have the bigger market share. For a lot of users, centralized exchanges offer speed efficiency, lower cost and higher volume and more liquidity.”
Tsai’s presentation, which leverages data from Huobi Research, also provided an overview of the current state of the blockchain industry, revealing key insights that include:
- Downtrend in investor sentiment from March-June
- Month-over-month loss in overall market cap of top 100 ICO's
- Blockchain projects focused on financial applications continue to take the lead over entertainment, social networking, medical, payment and distributed computing and storage
- Comparison between centralized and decentralized exchanges across a host of variables
“There are benefits of decentralized exchanges, like higher transparency and safety,” Tsai explained. “We’ve been actively exploring new features that can ‘semi-decentralized’ our existing infrastructure, like order booking, the listing process and overall organizational and management processes.”
