VANCOUVER, British Columbia (PRWEB) November 19, 2018 -- The International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories (ISBER) is pleased to announce the release of the Chinese translation of Best Practices: Recommendations for Repositories, Fourth Edition.
The Fourth Edition publication, originally released in January 2018, is a practice-changing publication aimed at advancing the science of biobanking to meet the needs of a growing industry. The English publication has been downloaded over 1000 times, and this translation will help meet the needs of more members worldwide and facilitate further growth in this field.
“The ISBER Best Practices 4th Edition aims to sustain and support biobankers everywhere,” said David Lewandowski, President of ISBER. “Translating these Best Practices into multiple languages aligns with ISBER’s position as the leading resource in repository management – and the Chinese translation of Best Practices is but one more step in our goal.”
“The release of the Best Practices in Chinese is a great opportunity to promote international norms and cooperation. The Biobank Branch, China Medicinal Biotech Association (BBCMBA) and ISBER will cooperate hand in hand towards that goal!”, said Prof Hengjun Gao, President of the BBCMBA.
"The translation of ISBER’s Best Practices into Chinese will facilitate its wide adoption in China. Chinese biobankers will now be at ease to understand and follow the recommended guidelines in their daily management." said Xun Xu, ISBER Director at Large for China. "ISBER will continue to bring its expertise to China to improve the repository management quality in the region." he added.
ISBER would like to thank the many Chinese colleagues for their involvement in the translation of this publication, acknowledging Mr Zhou Xuexun in particular, as well as the ISBER Standards Committee, for their critical support in this effort.
