Indiana Ballet Conservatory Raises Money and Awareness for IndyHumane
INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Dogs and dancers united to help raise money for IndyHumane during IBC's fall production, Pulse: Dancing to the Beat of Your Own Drummer at the Basile Theater at the Historic Anthenaeum. Each year, Indiana Ballet Conservatory chooses an area nonprofit to be the recipient of a portion of the proceeds from their highly acclaimed contemporary performance, Pulse.
This year's recipient, IndyHumane received $3,800.00 from the proceeds of the event which included a percentage of ticket sales and the proceeds of a signature Tito's event cocktail and silent auction. Prior to the event, four professional program students and adoptable dogs joined together for a unique and memorable photo shoot to promote adoptable dogs. The photo shoot was featured on Fox 59 weekend news. Photos from the event were also available as part of the auction items available for purchase.
Pulse, created by IBC Founding Artistic Director Alyona Yakovleva-Randall, follows the evolutionary progression of a young boy and girl who dream of becoming famous artists: the boy, a percussionist, and the girl, a ballerina. With fantastic percussion music by guest artist Daryl Randall, a participant of the acclaimed NAMM Show in Chicago, Pulse combines the very best of IBC's award-winning contemporary ballet repertoire along with the top hits of yesterday and today. Emphasizing the ways in which dance and music are so intricately intertwined and the ways in which art inspires life, and vice versa, this mesmerizing production transports the audience through a journey for the senses complete with uplifting music, powerful choreography, and inspiring visuals.
This event was made possible through the generous funding from Rachel Simon and the Herbert Simon Family Foundation.
Up next for the Indiana Ballet Conservatory is the highly anticipated winter performance, The Nutcracker which will run from December 13th through the 16th at the Tobias Theater, at Newfields. Children and adults of all ages will be transformed by this heartwarming tale of a young girl and her beloved Nutcracker as she battles off evil and learns the value and resiliency of the human spirit. This version is closest to that of the original Nutcracker ballet that debuted over 100 years ago in Russia, so you won't want to miss this timeless and beloved holiday favorite! A unique package will also be offered for families, corporations, and individuals to enjoy the magic of Winterlights and the Nutcracker creating an evening to remember.
