Inheritance of Hope Announces New CEO
National charity continues to serve families facing terminal illness as new CEO is appointed.
SENECA, S.C., Sept. 14, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Inheritance of Hope (IoH) recently marked 14 years of serving families facing the loss of a parent. Deric Milligan, who co-founded the organization with his late wife, Kristen, has been at the helm the entire time. Now, with confidence, Deric will transition into a different role.
While writing the business plan for Inheritance of Hope in 2006-2007, Milligan envisioned a team consisting of board members, a leadership team, and staff who would passionately serve families in similar situations to his own - young families facing the loss of a parent. Over the last 14 years, IoH has grown its team with an impressive Board of Directors who would make any Fortune 500 company proud, a brilliant leadership team, and a dedicated staff, as well as hundreds of volunteers.
Milligan has often used the metaphor "climbing the mountain" with his team - there are always new opportunities to work upward in reaching more families, while also valuing the importance of remembering to look back on all that has been accomplished. As he reflects on IoH's success, he believes the organization has reached new heights that would make his late wife, Kristen, proud. The 501(c)(3) charity has maintained its integrity as a Christian ministry, served families from 48 states, steadily grown offerings, and attained financial stability.
Inheritance of Hope is pleased to announce that Aaron Hedges will become the next CEO in September. "He is a gifted leader who has all of the qualities necessary to continue the trajectory of Inheritance of Hope," stated Milligan. Hedges has been a part of IoH from the beginning and was the first staff member hired, back in 2008. In addition to his institutional knowledge, Hedges brings academic credentials that include an MBA and MDiv from Mercer University. Milligan is confident in this transition and believes that Hedges has the character and qualifications to uniquely position him to take IoH to new heights.
Milligan will remain committed to Inheritance of Hope as he begins a new role within the organization. As the Executive Chairman of the Board, he will work directly in leading the IoH Board and continue to inspire hope in families. IoH has much to be grateful for throughout its history and much to look forward to.
Inheritance of Hope is a 501(c)(3) charity devoted to inspiring hope in young families facing the loss of a parent. Its story began with one young family facing a parent's terminal illness – a mom and dad with young children looking for resources for their family. Surprisingly, there were none. They decided to create resources for their family and share them with others. Today, Inheritance of Hope serves families throughout the U.S. – a hope-filled community of care that "gets it" through all the ups and downs.
