InspiriTec wins Inquirer Top Workplace Award for 7th straight time
Colleagues applaud company's "culture of caring" and its handling of the post-pandemic return to work
PHILADELPHIA, March 31, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- For the seventh straight year, InspiriTec Inc. has been included on the Philadelphia Inquirer's list of Top Workplaces.Any company with 50 more employees in the Philadelphia region was eligible to compete. Exton, Pa.-based Energage conducted the survey, one of 61 such workplace surveys it runs throughout the country. An alphabetical list of awardees appeared in the March 26 Inquirer; the ranked list will appear in August.
"I'm so proud of my colleagues at InspiriTec," said CEO and cofounder John Connolly. "This award is earned not by our leadership but by the employees."
Providing award-winning Contact Center and IT Help Desk solutions, InspiriTec is a Social Enterprise that affirmatively employs professionals with disabilities, veterans, and disadvantaged individuals. As the COVID pandemic eased off, InspiriTec, like many other companies, invited employees back to work – but, in contrast to some companies, it also encouraged those for whom remote work was more appropriate to stay in place.
"We prefer the workplace, obviously," Connolly said. "We value the social element, the community and support of face-to-face interaction. But we don't make it a requirement; this wasn't done by edict. While many employees prefer to come in, for those who can't, or those who find it a hardship, we continued the support that is our trademark."
Tanisha Carter, Team Lead, appreciated that support.
"Working from home allows me the flexibility to maintain my job while being a mom to three sons," she said. "I especially appreciate InspiriTec being so understanding and compassionate. They've helped me overcome a lot of obstacles. They understand our daily lives."
Mor Dadi is a member of InspiriTec's unique case management team who support employees, especially those with special needs, and act as liaisons between them and the company's operations management.
"We help them with everything from difficulties finding insurance or a place to live to getting them headphones that fit," Dadi said. "That includes accommodations they sometimes need but couldn't otherwise afford and that other companies do not provide. We can tap statewide resources to get things to people, even those who live in outlying areas. We can mail them the equipment, and our phenomenal IT people will walk them through getting it set up."
"The case managers are the people who make all the difference," said Kelly Devine, Call Center Manager. "They make sure the employee, the whole person, has everything he or she needs to be successful at work and at life outside work. Just seeing people is so much better, getting out of the house, talking to someone else besides your dog, sharing the ups and downs of a workday."
Keeping our employees happy means they can pass that along to the customers," Devine added. "There's an old cliché in customer service that "your smile can be heard," and there's a lot of truth to that. When we serve our colleagues, they serve customers better."
Connolly said, "The recognition of the Top Workplaces list speaks to longevity and perseverance. It takes a while for a service culture like ours to take root. And as more and more people hear about InspiriTec, word of mouth brings us more clients, and we continue to grow. We can say to our clients, 'Our culture of caring comes to your customers when you hire us.'"
