Interior Image Group Selected to Design Sessions Hotel in Downtown Bristol, VA
BRISTOL, Va. (PRWEB) August 28, 2018 -- Interior Image Group (IIG) announced today it has been officially named the hospitality design firm that will transform three historic buildings in this city into the new boutique Sessions Hotel.
The three vacant buildings in downtown Bristol that will soon be revitalized are the 1920s Jobbers Candy Company, Service Mills and Bristol Grocery buildings. The buildings will be unified and transformed into the Sessions Hotel, a hospitality destination that will showcase the history of the city and its heritage as the birthplace of country music. Creative Boutique Hotels broke ground on the project in July, partnering with IIG for the interior design of the hotel.

We’re excited to help tell the city’s story through the Sessions Hotel and be part of its history.”
Bristol’s musical history will be front and center at the Sessions Hotel as the designs pay homage to the city’s country music background and the historic Bristol Sessions of 1927, considered to be the “Big Bang” of country music. The design of the hotel will feature elements hearkening back to these original recordings, from artwork based on the sessions to decor and lighting made to look like microphones and stage lighting. The hotel will also be a gathering place for music lovers with its outdoor music venue, the Bristol Filling Station.
IIG has spent two-and-a-half years immersed in the Bristol community, delving into the history of the city, to develop the story for the hotel. From the moment guests walk in the door, they will experience the recording sessions and the history of the buildings themselves. Designers will incorporate elements from the original buildings, including grain chutes and brick floors. Even old corn meal bags from the mills have a place in the hotel, with guest pillows featuring designs from the bags. The design will bring warmth and comfort to the guest rooms, without sacrificing the history of the buildings. IIG also partnered with Bristol native Moon Bound Girl for an art piece that will infuse a local feel into the hotel.

The new hotel will be located on State Street and Commonwealth Avenue, anchoring State Street on the Virginia/Tennessee state line. Sitting in such a prominent location, developers are excited to be able to welcome people to downtown Bristol.
Between the three buildings, the Sessions Hotel will include 70 guest rooms. It also features the following:
- Bristol Filling Station, an outdoor music venue. The space features a large lawn and stage area for performances.
- The Rooftop Lounge, a rooftop restaurant overlooking the city of Bristol. Here, guests can eat and enjoy a drink and music in an intimate but casual setting.
- Simply Grand Bar and Lounge, a restaurant specializing in southern comfort foods from scratch. Set in the Service Mills building, guests will appreciate simple, delicious food surrounded by repurposed granary equipment in a rustic but comfortable atmosphere.
- An upscale restaurant and lounge celebrating the rich history of Appalachia. The restaurant will feature a farm-to-table menu that changes with the harvest. Dishes will be rooted in Appalachian history, with unique tastes and flavors.
