Jevon Alexander Previews New Album With Release of "Mamba Mentality" Single on NBA 2K21 Soundtrack

YPSILANTI, Mich., Dec. 16, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Ypsilanti rap artist Jevon Alexander is set to release his first studio-produced album, Balance, on December 11th, 2020. Fans of the rapper will be able to get an early sneak peek of his latest work on the soundtrack for NBA 2K21. The latest iteration of the pro basketball video game franchise, released on November 10th for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and November 12th for PlayStation 5, will feature Jevon's single "Mamba Mentality".
"Being on 2k is a dream come true, an actual physical dream," said Alexander. "Things could stop where they are right now, and I would feel like I've accomplished so much. I've been a fan of NBA video games, playing them every single year, so this is just incredible."

Inspired by artists Andre 3000, Drake, 50 Cent, early Will Smith, and Kanye West, Jevon has a unique sound that meshes R&B and hip hop to create good vibes that you can ride out to. His relatable lyrics talk about family, God, and his views on being on the come up. He also dances around the subject of women and how being the good guy hasn't always worked out for him. The rapper hints that several of the album tracks were inspired by a specific someone but added that he also takes things from other people's stories as inspiration.
With his first full studio album, Jevon plans to take over the music game and show just how versatile he is. Jevon wrote and produced all of the tracks on his upcoming project and lives by the wise words of his grandfather ("It's better to be respected than to be liked. I don't care if you hate me; you will respect me."). He wants to show the world that you can still be yourself and make a difference. "You've only got one life, so you might as well make it what you wanna make it. You just have to take that first step," said Alexander.
Balance features collaborations with Mikhail Miller, Lando Ameen, and MYNA. In the future, Jevon says that it would be a dream to collaborate on a track with Kanye West and Drake.
Balance drops December 11th, 2020 via Jevon Alexander Productions, and will be available on Spotify, iTunes, and all other music streaming platforms. The NBA 2K21 soundtrack is also available now on Spotify.
