Kwik Trip and Its Customers Raise $81,000 to Accelerate the Mission of Partnership for a Healthier America
Convenience chain raises funds while supporting healthier choices.
WASHINGTON, August 28, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Today, Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) announced that Kwik Trip has raised $81,000 during its 2019 coin canister campaign to support PHA in ensuring all children, especially those most vulnerable, grow up healthy and free from obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and other chronic conditions.
Now in its sixth year, this campaign has raised over $417,000 to support healthier futures for our nation's children and young adults. Throughout the month of June, all 673 Kwik Trip locations in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa participated in the campaign.
"Kwik Trip is a tremendous ambassador for the work of Partnership for a Healthier America" said Nancy Roman, PHA CEO. "Not only are they providing and promoting healthier options in their stores, they are sparking change across the country by enabling their customers to give back."
Kwik Trip is the first convenience store to partner with PHA three times. Working alongside PHA, in 2014 Kwik Trip prioritized making healthier choices more accessible for their customers by growing its EatSmart program and offering a PHA-approved snack bundle. In 2016, Kwik Trip expanded its PHA commitment to offer an increased variety of healthier options, including healthier packaged foods like nuts and whole grain granola bars throughout the store, and increasing healthier options in the checkout area. Kwik Trip is now piloting PHA's award winning FNV (fruits and veggies) social marketing campaign in store to encourage healthier choices.
"Kwik Trip is honored to collaborate with the Partnership for a Healthier America and raise money and awareness for PHA's healthier food, fitness, and lifestyle initiatives. The monies raised will help make a positive difference in the communities we are fortunate to serve," said David Ring, Community Relations Manager at Kwik Trip.
