HOT CRAZY, rising out of Los Angeles, California, is a four-piece rock band dripping with theatrical whimsy and electrified energy. The band members; Jordan Ziff (guitar), Carl Biehn (lead vocals), Robby Creasey (bass guitar), and Jake Dick (drums), combine their formidable talents to create a rebellious, combustible sound that owes its' fashion forward attituded as much to the legendary band Queen, as it does to iconic artist Lady Gaga.
HOT CRAZY was formed in 2020 when bassist Robby Creasey took a much-needed break from Hollywood during the height of the pandemic, to head 400 miles east back to his hometown of Phoenix, AZ. The much-needed break lead to a meeting with high school friend, guitarist Jordan Ziff. Maybe it was the times, maybe it was written in the stars; but their meeting opened a door to deep discussions about all facets of culture. From art, to film, to fashion, and music. . . hours and hours and hours of music. Ultimately, in an organic, unfiltered way, they began to pinpoint a collaborative vision for a musical concept that would become HOT CRAZY.
In July of 2020, Jordan trekked west to Los Angeles to explore musical ideas with Robby. Vocalist and friend, Carl Biehn was invited to sit in on the meet. Inspired by what he heard, with his imagination ignited, Carl began to craft lyrics. Words that would not just support the music, but that would offer an umbrella of understanding; a space where all the identities and complexities of humankind were welcome and could celebrate without judgement.
Of course, any rock band needs a heartbeat, and the strength and energy of that heartbeat starts at the right foot of a powerhouse drummer. Jake Dick, a masterclass drummer who had worked his craft in Los Angeles for a few seasons, was the final puzzle piece that would fulfill the promise of those "pandemic discussions" that Robby and Jordan had a year earlier.
The bands' early 70's influenced arena rock bombast is unapologetic in its celebration of diversity and inclusivity. Combining unforgettable melodies, expressive lyrics, and refined musicality, one listen is sure to hook you and make you HOT CRAZY.
