Launching the 2nd Cohort of Ping AN Cloud Accelerator Powered by SparkLabs

SHENZHEN, China, Oct. 01, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The "Ping An Cloud Accelerator Powered by SparkLabs" was designed to empower and prepare out-standing innovative technology companies from around the world to enter the China market. This program was co-created by Ping An Group, one of the largest insurance and financial institutions with headquarters in Futian, Shenzhen, China, and SparkLabs Group, a globally renowned network of accelerators and venture funds; with co-sponsorship by the Futian government. Startups who are selected to join the accelerator program will receive the support of Ping An Group and gain access to the international network of SparkLabs. In addition, the startups will receive finance and technology advice and coaching by global thought leaders who will serve as mentors, and also gain access into the Ping An Cloud ecosystem. During the 5-month acceleration program, we will help companies optimize their business models, expand and localize their business, and facilitate the next round of financing through workshops and D-Day, our version of demo day that puts the startups in front of hundreds of investors and corporates.
Ping An Cloud Accelerator launched our first cohort in June 2018. We received over 120 applications and selected 10 companies through a rigorous selection process. Representing 7 countries (the United Kingdom, the United States, Singapore, Nigeria, India, Pakistan, and China), these companies have gained significant traction in numerous fronts over the last three months, including business development, technology up-grades, localization, and fund raising.
As we announce the start of the application process for the 2nd cohort, we welcome passionate and innovative technology companies to join us in expanding the Ping An Cloud ecosystem.
Key Program Highlights:
1. Ping An Group resources and Ping An Cloud Ecosystem
In the last decade, Ping An has invested over 50 billion CNY on innovative technologies including AI, intelligence recognition, blockchain and Cloud Service. Companies in the program will receive credits for Ping An Cloud Services, and have access to Ping An Technology's leading facial recognition, voice and micro-expression recognition, and OCR technology. They can also bundle their products into Ping An's offerings via cooperation with the Ping An R&D team.
2. SparkLabs' global connectivity and funding
SparkLabs global network of accelerators, partners and mentors offer a wealth of industry expertise and experience that program companies can leverage. SparkLabs Fintech fund will evaluate program companies for equity investments.
3. Government/Policy support
The Futian District, the Wall Street of Shenzhen, will provide streamlined company registration support. Additionally, the local Futian Government will facilitate business introduction and offer grants to companies accepted into the Accelerator Program.
4. D-Day
Our Demo Day, known as D-Day, is the culmination of the accelerator and will be held at the end of the program, where hundreds of well-known investors, industry representatives and media professionals, will witness cohort companies showcase their products and services.
