Laureate Digital Securities Establishes Global Headquarters in Bermuda

Laureate Digital chose Bermuda because the country has instituted the world’s most robust legislation to govern the creation and trading of digital securities and sets high regulatory standards for companies operating in the financial technology industry.
Laureate Digital also announced today the acquisition of MESH OTC, a decentralized over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives exchange initiative powered by blockchain. As part of the acquisition, MESH OTC’s CEO and co-Founder, Martin Wörner, is joining Laureate Digital’s leadership team as Chief Technology Officer.

In his new role, Wörner is responsible for all facets of the company’s technology infrastructure and will lead the firm’s efforts on employing blockchain and other cutting-edge technologies to disrupt the capital markets industry. In addition to his work in blockchain, Wörner brings more than three decades of experience in capital markets technology, with tenures at some of Europe’s leading financial institutions.
