MPI Expands West Coast Presence, Bolsters National Estate Planning Team with Two Key Hires
David Eckstein and Thomas Berg, Jr. join leading national valuation practice
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J., Jan. 12, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- MPI, a national consulting firm founded in 1939 specializing in business valuation, today announces David Eckstein and Thomas Berg, Jr. have joined the firm's national valuation practice and will lead its Western Region expansion initiative with offices in Seattle and San Francisco, respectively.
"We are thrilled to welcome David and Tom to the MPI team," said Dan Kerrigan, President of MPI. "I believe our firm's longstanding history and commitment to the highest level of service to those in the trust and estate community is unmatched in our industry. David and Tom's experience and reputation for delivering outstanding results for their clients furthers our mission and ability to service clients in the western part of the U.S. In an environment of elevated tax uncertainty and increased financial complexity, the ability to provide well-supported and time-sensitive valuation opinions – tailored for individuals who have spent a lifetime creating and protecting wealth – is more critical than ever."
Eckstein has 30 years of business valuation experience, is a former founder of FMV Opinions and most recently co-led Deloitte Advisory's U.S. estate, gift and GST tax valuation practice. Berg has more than 20 years of business valuation experience, formerly as a shareholder at FMV Opinions and a co-lead of Deloitte Advisory's U.S. estate, gift and GST tax valuation practice. Eckstein and Berg have provided valuation services for some of the wealthiest families and largest privately-owned companies in the country. Mr. Eckstein has served as an expert witness in U.S. Tax Court and other jurisdictions, while Mr. Berg has also testified in several jurisdictions.
In addition to MPI's new Seattle and San Francisco offices, MPI has several offices located on the East Coast and Midwest. The company's expansion comes during a time of increased demand for valuation work driven by potential changes to the U.S. Tax Code and the continued generational wealth transfer.
