The BodyScript Ascend analyzer uses harmless near-infrared technology to provide significantly greater accuracy than popular bioelectrical impedance (BIA) devices. BodyScript gold standard accuracy equals hydrostatic and DEXA (dual energy x-ray absorptiometry) non-invasive bone mineral density testing. Subjects stand on the BodyScript platform. A light wand is applied to the bicep and within 10 seconds they receive a report with body fat percentage, weight of body fat, three-fat type analysis, bone mass, muscle mass, lean body mass, body mass index (BMI), metabolic rate (BMR), and total water.
