Mobile Pixels' DUEX Selected as a Winner at the 2019 Edison Awards
The on-the-go dual-screen laptop monitor initially reached success during its Kickstarter campaign in June where it collected over 4,000 pre-orders
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Jan. 30, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Edison Best New Product Awards is an annual competition honoring excellence in new product and service development, marketing, human-centered design, and innovation. This week, Mobile Pixels was selected as a winner of a 2019 Edison Award by the Steering Committee. During its 35-day run on Kickstarter, MIT-backed startup Mobile Pixels raised $862,433 for DUEX, their portable, foldable second screen designed for any laptop.
After attaching DUEX to the back of a laptop with the provided magnets, consumers can then connect it via a single USB-C cable and slide it out, to the left or right, as needed. DUEX weighs just 1.5 pounds and features a 12.5-inch screen, enabling it to fit almost any laptop, no matter the size. While the video driver has an energy star rating to help reduce battery drain and give users a long-lasting battery life, DUEX also provides a full 270° rotation with the option for a 180° presentation mode, so consumers can choose an optimal viewing angle for any situation.
After its highly successful Kickstarter campaign, DUEX continues to collect pre-orders on Indiegogo's InDemand platform. While on InDemand, DUEX reached over $1.2 million in pre-sales and gained over 2,000 new backers and counting.
DUEX will be recognized and celebrated on April 4th at the 32nd Annual Edison Awards Gala in New York, New York. where the start-up will receive either a Gold, Silver, or Bronze award in their respective category. Guest of honor, Ginni Rometty, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of IBM, will be honored that night in the same ceremony as the 2019 Edison Achievement Award Winner.
