Monster Energy’s Sam Hill (AUS) Takes Another Win At The Enduro World Series Round 5 in La Thuile, Italy
LA THUILE, Italy (PRWEB) July 24, 2018 -- Monster Energy’s Sam Hill (AUS) has done it again and taken home another Enduro World Series (EWS) victory this season after winning round 4 earlier in the month. With this win, Hill now extends his lead in the series overall, taking home four of the five races so far this season. As the current series leader Hill’s point lead is 2,380 points next to the number two leader, Damien Oton who sits at 1,910 points.
The lightning fast Aussie dominated once again, winning three of seven stages, with second places on two more to secure the victory. By the time it was all said and done, Hill landed 13 seconds ahead of second place winner, Martin Maes after 59 minutes and 53 seconds worth of times racing over the weekend.
The EWS consists of eight rounds across three continents. Sitting just over the Italian border, La Thuile is nestled in the Aosta valley within the shadow of the magnificent Mont Blanc providing extremely steep technical descents that test the world’s best riders. This week was no exception as monsoon rains hit on and off in the evenings turning some sections into slippery death chutes, while others remained bone dry.
Hill placed second at the La Thuile EWS event two years ago, and was on a mission to move up to the top of the podium.
"La Thuile is awesome – such a cool place to ride and race,” said Hill. The stages had a bit of everything and the weather gave us some slippery and dry stages so it was quite varied over the weekend. But it couldn’t have gone any better and I’m pumped to get another win “
Next up is round 6 in Whistler, Canada on August 12th where Hill will be a favorite to take home gold, which will set him up for another world championship title. The season is looking to be tracking well for another world championship title for Hill.
