Murrieta Genomics Becomes First Tenant at Life Science Incubator at University of California, Riverside
Offering Monthly Genomics "Lunch and Learn" Educational Program
MURRIETA, Calif., Jan. 27, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Murrieta Genomics, the provider of genomics services and a launch pad for genomic sequencing startups, has signed a tenancy agreement with the University of California Riverside's (UCR) Life Science Incubator. The company is the first to become a member of the Incubator and thus joining the innovation ecosystem at UCR overseen by the Office of Technology Partnerships.

The Incubator is a 3,000 square-foot wet laboratory space in the new Multidisciplinary Research Building (MRB) specially outfitted to house startups in the life sciences, agriculture, biotechnology, and medical technologies, and is the first of its kind in the Inland Empire. Residents will have access to UC Riverside technology and equipment across campus, such as a nanofabrication cleanroom, proteomics, stem cell core, and plant transformation through faculty collaborations and fee-for-service agreements.
Residents of the Incubator will also have the opportunity to interact and collaborate with UCR researchers, faculty and students, attend seminars, access patent search services and entrepreneurial development workshops, and use UCR's SBIR/STTR Resource Center, which guides applicants through the process of obtaining commercialization development grants from the federal government.
Murrieta Genomics has been meeting and working with UCR researchers since the company's inception. Genomic sequencing plays a large part in both precision medicine and precision agriculture, two areas of focus of the research university.

Murrieta Genomics will hold office hours every Tuesday from 11 am to 3 pm. During office hours, researchers and entrepreneurs from the community can discuss advances in genomics technologies and the company's core service capabilities with the company's principals.
In partnership with the Incubator, the company will also be offering "Lunch and Learn" presentations featuring state-of-the-art genomics technology companies to University staff and students on the last Tuesday of every month from 11 am to 1 pm starting February 25th.
An initial meet and greet will be held on January 29, 2020 at 4:00 pm in the Atrium Seminar Room at the Multidisciplinary Research Building and feature the founding team from Murrieta Genomics who will present their capabilities. There will also be a presentation at 5:00 pm from Aspect Biosystems, a company that has combined the power of microfluidics and 3D bioprinting to create living, human tissues for medical research, therapeutic discovery, and regenerative medicine products. Tours of the Incubator will be available following the event.
Future topics for the "Lunch and Learn" series will be precision agriculture, gene assembly, advanced data analytics and other topics suggested by UCR researchers. that will have a direct application to the University's areas of interest.
