MyWay Mobile Storage of Pittsburgh Helps out with RAMP’s Community Service Event
PITTSBURGH, Pa. (PRWEB) March 13, 2019 -- MyWay Mobile Storage of Pittsburgh will be joining the REALTORS® Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh (RAMP) in their Community Service Committee’s Daily Bread event. The March 21st event is focused on making and serving lunch to those experiencing homelessness or under-employment. The food is served out of the kitchen at the New Hope Methodist Church on the North Side. RAMP community service committee volunteers will purchase the menu items, prepare the food, and serve a delicious meal.
“We really love to get out in the community and give back. Volunteering at the Daily Bread program (formally known as the Northside Congregate Feeding Program) is a terrific way to do that,” said Michelle Schocker, an agent with Berkshire Hathaway. “We want to have a positive impact on the community,” Schocker continued, “but the experience will have a positive impact on us as well.”
Ed Sickmund, MyWay Mobile Storage of Pittsburgh Market Owner and RAMP Affiliate member said, “Helping those who may be experiencing homelessness in this way reminds us to see these people as real people. They are our neighbors.” Sickmund continued, “The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank estimates that more than 14 percent of our community experiences food insecurity.”
Michelle Senko, a PPM Realty agent added, “The Daily Bread program does a terrific job, together with other feeding programs on the Northside, making sure hot meals are available every day of the week.”
Hollie Hooper, a Howard Hanna agent, noted, “Food insecurity, homelessness, and under-employment are challenges facing our neighbors all year round. Feeding programs are not just needed around the holidays, but every day. My Howard Hanna colleagues, Preston Moore, Emily Platts, and I are happy to do our small part.”
Mary Lynne Deets, RAMP Faculty, pointed out that, “Anyone interested in volunteering for the Daily Bread program can sign up online. The program serves meals three times per week, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:30 a.m. and Sundays at 4:00 p.m.”
