NACHA to Recognize Nearly 500 New Accredited Professionals During National AAP & APRP Recognition Day on Feb. 12
HERNDON, Va. (PRWEB) February 12, 2019 -- In honor of National AAP & APRP Recognition Day, NACHA will recognize 285 newly credentialed Accredited ACH Professionals who passed the 2018 AAP exam, as well as more than 4,600 professionals who currently hold the credential.
NACHA also will recognize the 204 individuals who passed the first-ever Accredited Payments Risk Professional exam last year and were awarded the APRP credential.
To be awarded the AAP credential, individuals must pass a comprehensive exam that is administered by NACHA each fall. The exam tests an individual’s knowledge of subjects including the NACHA Operating Rules, the ACH Network and other payment systems, technical and operational ACH requirements, risk management, and payments-related regulations. The AAP focuses on the ACH Network.
To become an APRP, individuals must pass an exam, administered by NACHA, that tests an individual’s knowledge of subjects including the fundamentals of payments risk management, payments systems, payments risk policy and governance, payments risk management systems and controls, physical and information security, and the regulatory environment. The APRP exam tests for comprehensive risk management knowledge across all payment types, including ACH, check, wire, debit, credit and prepaid cards, and emerging and alternative payments.
“The AAP and APRP accreditations establish an individual’s credibility, professional competency, and expertise within the payments industry,” said Scott M. Lang, AAP, senior vice president, Association Services at NACHA. “AAPs and APRPs have the comprehensive electronic payments and risk management expertise that is needed across the industry – at financial institutions, fintechs, processors and businesses – to enhance payments processes, maintain sound payments practices, and ensure compliance with regulations.”
“These highly skilled payments professionals are part of an elite group and it is our honor to congratulate each newly minted AAP and APRP for passing their respective exams,” Lang said.
NACHA, its 11 Regional Payments Associations members, and more than 1,700 organizations with AAPs and APRPs on staff will celebrate National AAP & APRP Recognition Day, which is commemorated annually on the second Tuesday of February, to honor recently credentialed and current AAPs and APRPs.
In Washington, D.C., NACHA and the RPAs will fly an American flag over the U.S. Capitol. The flag then will be awarded to an AAP or APRP at the annual AAP & APRP Reception, sponsored by the RPAs, at Smarter. Faster. PAYMENTS 2019, which will be held May 5-8 in Orlando, Florida.
AAPs and APRPs receive exclusive registration rates for PAYMENTS 2019 ($1,475 through March 8) and The Payments Institute ($2,195), two of NACHA’s premier educational events. Registration is now open for both programs, which also offer continuing education credits.
