NFI Recognized by Inbound Logistics as Top 75 Green Supply Chain Partner

Published in the June issue, the annual G75 is a curated list of 75 companies that go above and beyond to ensure their global supply chains are sustainable, and their operations are socially and environmentally friendly.

Further, NFI is currently testing electric yard horse demonstration units, and is exploring the viability of class 8 battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. To aid in decreasing fuel usage, NFI uses battery powered Auxiliary Power Units (APUs), as well as aerodynamic components.
To ensure ongoing sustainability, NFI administers ongoing tests that focus on key performance indicators like miles per gallon and the EPA’s eight SmartWay emissions metrics. In recognition of its efforts, NFI been awarded the EPA SmartWay Partner award three times and has been identified as a SmartWay High Performer.
Sustainability efforts are also in place within NFI’s 41.5 million sq. ft. of warehousing and distribution operations, utilizing electric and propane powered forklifts, lithium battery forklift demonstration units, and an extensive recycling program. NFI’s headquarters operates solely on solar power, eliminating over 91,000,000 pounds of CO2.
