All knives get dull- it’s a fact. Then they’re either sharpened or tossed out and replaced with a new model. NÜEDGE knives™ is the first-of-its-kind kitchen knife with a replaceable blade. Simply slide the cardboard blade protector over the blade, push the blade release button, and the dull blade is removed. The old blade can be recycled or tossed and instantly replaced with a new ultra-sharp factory blade.
“When you think about it, not a whole lot has changed in knife-making in the past two centuries! Knife makers have tried to address the problem of the ‘dull knife syndrome’ since the first caveman used a flint knife,” says founder and CEO Matt Castagna on the inspiration behind the project. “It’s hard to compare NÜEDGE knives™ to other knives because there just aren’t any other kitchen knives like them on the market! NÜEDGE knives™ come with a slightly textured, nylon fiber plastic knife handle, that is dishwasher-safe and fade-resistant. The blades are ground at 19⁰, which gives them the advantage of achieving NÜEDGE ultra-sharpness. The replaceable blades are made from high quality 3cr13 steel.
NÜEDGE knife™ handles have three different colored inserts to choose from. The handles themselves are black and each comes with either 3 or 6 interchangeable and replaceable blades, plus a bin that stores the extra blades. Backers of the campaign can choose between the following options; 3 blades (one each of the following blade profiles: chef’s, slicer, and santoku) or six blades (two each of the blade profiles: chef’s, slicer, and santoku).

My name is Matt Castagna, and I am the creator of NÜEDGE knives™. Although this is different from most projects I’ve been privileged to be a part of starting, this isn’t my first rodeo. My wife Leslie and I were founders of a kid’s camp in Belize, C.A. where we lived for ten years. Using my trusty $10 compass, we had to build two miles of roads through the jungle just to get into our property from the nearest dirt road.
