Prior to launching Caring Transitions, Tiffany was a program coordinator for an agency that helped people in care facilities to transitions back into society, which involved some of the same kinds of services Caring Transitions offers. She loved the job, but was on call 24/7 and working seven days a week. Geno, who has a background in construction and investing, saw how hard Tiffany was working and suggested that, since they both loved helping people and since they were both working extremely hard, it was time to work for themselves to serve the community in a better way. That’s when they found Caring Transitions – a service they could have used back in 2011.
“My mom, who lived in Washington State, passed away in 2011. Tiffany and I were living in California while my sister, June, was living in Washington. We knew she was pulling her hair out trying to find the time to settle the estate while running her own business. We hated that we weren’t able to be there for her and, if we had known about Caring Transitions and if there had been one by my mother’s house, we would have called in a heartbeat,” Geno said. “We are looking forward to being a resource for seniors and families in our area. In addition to their work with Caring Transitions, the Harrisons are the founders of Bar Breath LLC, which maintains breathalyzers in bars in Riverside County and Orange County. Although the breathalyzers may be a bit of fun if you’re drunk and have already handed over the keys, Geno, who’s best friend died while driving drunk, said the breathalyzers are really about promoting responsibility. A percentage of the funds raised by Bar Breath LLC are donated to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
