New Historical Fiction Highlights the Plight of an Immigrant Family
Milena Orlic-Kovacic announces publication of 'A Dream That Lasted Nine Centuries'
GALWAY CITY, Ireland, July 24, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Croatians travel to the Balkan Peninsula, fight to survive and experience family revenge in Milena Orlic-Kovacic's new historical novel, "A Dream That Lasted Nine Centuries" (published by AuthorHouse UK). The book is available for purchase at: https://www.amazon.com/Dream-That-Lasted-Nine-Centuries/dp/1728383757.
The Hrvats family decide to immigrate to the Balkans in search of more space and new land. Their present country is beautiful but small. The book follows their months-long journey crossing rivers and climbing mountains. On their way, they met lots of other tribes; it was a time of migration for tribes all over Europe, including Gauls, Goths, Franks and Vandals. Lots of them joined the Hrvats' little group and continued with them. Instead of around 1,500 people, it was 20,000 coming to Dalmatia. After three months, they finally reached their destination.
An excerpt from
After three months, they finally reached the Balkan. Upon passing through Gorski Kotar, they climbed the mountain called Risnyak, and in the distance through the mist, they saw the blue Adriatic. That was a magnificent view. They realised that this would be hard to conquer and keep. But then they saw it, it looked like it was waiting for them. They knew they would get it and keep it. And they did.
"There are still lots of countries conquered by other countries, and my message is NEVER GIVE UP," Orlic-Kovacic says. "If you fight for your zeal, there is hope that you will win."
