New Historical Fiction Tells Coming-of-Age Story of Love, Loss, Resilience and Hope
LITTLE SILVER, N.J. (PRWEB) April 26, 2019 -- A fatal confrontation between a son and his father erupts from a volcano of religious fanaticism and age-old traditions in Prakash Lothe’s new novel, “The Defender of the Faith” (published by Archway Publishing). The book is available for purchase at: https://www.amazon.com/Defender-Faith-Prakash-Lothe/dp/1480873470.
Almost everyone in the Shirodkar household knows Shyam is a doomed child. The family astrologer, who is never wrong, has predicted that Shyam will encounter two near-death accidents and will not survive the third. The question is not if but when the event will happen.
As Shyam’s life journey leads him to a missionary college in Nagpur, he embraces Western influences that prompt him to question traditions and wisdom acquired through centuries. While Europe heads toward war, Shyam and his orthodox Hindu father become immersed in a moral struggle. Their disagreement might just leave Shyam with more questions than answers and a void he will never be able to fill.
Lothe hopes that his book will enlighten readers about “noble values” as well as the “value of values.”
